History of RED Day

In an effort to give back to local communities, Keller Williams associates organized the first RED Day back in 2009. RED Day stands for “Renew, Energize, Donate”, and that is exactly what associates across the country have been doing on this day every year since its inception.

On the second Thursday of every May, Keller Williams offices remain closed as employees go out and help with various projects throughout their communities. These projects range anywhere from donating to local food pantries to rebuilding homes.

This year, the unfortunate circumstances of the Coronavirus pandemic caused a slight change of plans for this much anticipated day. Nonetheless, Keller Williams Greater Hartford associates were able to successfully hold their annual Red Day event this year with a few minor adjustments.

Even in this complicated time, realtors from Keller Williams Greater Hartford were able to give back to their communities. While maintaining appropriate social distancing and sanitation practices, they were able to donate both food and money to local pantries and give back at a time when some people need it most.

Sherwood Inspection Services associates were fortunate to be able to participate in RED Day this year in support of Keller Williams. Our team collected an abundance of non-perishable goods and donated them to various pantries throughout the state of Connecticut.

In Mansfield, Sherwood Inspection Services made a donation of goods and helped other contributers fill the back of a large truck. At this location, there were first responders on site helping with the process and making sure everyone was properly adhering to COVID-19 guidelines. Sherwood Inspection also made a monetary donation to Windham’s local food pantry as well.

Similarly, in Longmeadow and Glastonbury, the Sherwood Inspection team helped by donating more non-perishable goods to local food pantries. Our team felt immensely grateful to be a part of such a valuable experience.

In a time where many of us are struggling in one way or another, it was refreshing to be able to help out where we could. Our team takes pride in being able to participate in this event that is built around giving back. We applaud all the hard work by Keller Williams associates who organize the event every year, as well as all who participate.
