Well Inspections in Connecticut

Why You Should Get a Well Flow Test
A well flow test will help determine if there is a problem with the well or its associated equipment such as the pump and storage tank that requires further evaluation or repair by a professional well contractor.
All visible components of the well system will be inspected. This includes the well head, if above ground and visible, the pressure (storage) tank, the piping and wiring and the well pump (only jet pumps, which are typically located next to or on top of the storage tank can be visually inspected). If a well has a submersible pump (meaning the pump is inside the well shaft) it is not visible and can not be inspected.
A well flow test is not a drawdown or recovery test. This type of testing is much more time consuming and costly and is generally performed by a professional well contractor.
Our Well Flow Testing Process
Our well flow test consists of running water, usually from an exterior hose bib, for a period of approximately an hour. During this time period the flow rate (gallons per minute) and the pressure of the water from the well will be monitored for any unusual fluctuation or abnormalities which may indicate a problem with the well, pump or other associated equipment.
The well flow test does not warranty the well, or the condition of the well or related components. It is intended to determine the condition present at the time of the inspection and testing. All wells vary in performance and are affected by underground aquifer conditions, equipment, weather and climate conditions. Seasonal variations are not uncommon and can affect the ability of the well to produce water, especially in a drought period.
We advise you to verify with the town or a well contractor that the location of the well is a sufficient distance from the septic system and drainage fields to prevent contamination.
